Dear Friends, Colleagues, Fellow TNNWC Members, Global Futurists, Internationalists, Braintenancers, Entrepreneurs and War-Weary Leaders of Emerging Enterprises:
How can anyone make or expect to keep plans in such a mad world? How can we entrepreneurs and business-builders thrive on chaos? Or on a lack of credit? Or on fast foods?
Everyone and everything is changing -- ironically (I enjoy the occasional oxymoron, although my wife doesn't let me use them in the house), the only thing that we can expect is the unexpected. And you CAN'T EXPECT THAT WHICH YOU CANNOT EXPECT BY DEFINITION!
Our lives seem to lie somewhere in the accelerating time-space wormhole created by the cacaphonous confluence (that's alliteration, Mrs. Morse!) of Murphy's Law, The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, the Bermuda Triangle and Snakes On a Plane (what a swell movie that was).
We are always walking about in a bewildered state of fog and confusion, until we become so tired that we fall into a state of exhaustion... then we get up and go at trying to resolve the unresolvable again. Why do we even try?
We fight wars for peace. We put people in protective custody. We void (if we've had too much beer) where prohibited by law. [That last line contained a joke - go ahead, the class will wait while you go back and try to find it.]
We miss the past, but it seemed (then) that we couldn't wait until we were out of it at the time that it was the present... and now we live in the present that is what the future ultimately turned out to be. We cannot go back. We are scared to move ahead as the ground shifts under us.
America spells cheese, "K.R.A.F.T."
Sovereign governments are contemplating bankruptcy. Disenfranchised Baby-Boomers and disillusioned college kids are contemplating suicide. Nothing holds still, it seems, for long enough to grasp a hold of it. A carousel of madness. Vertigo in the belltower. Tinnitus from tintinabulation (where's that Spelcheczh?).
They Might Be Giants performed the song which follows, and I wanted to share it with you. They probably would have wanted to share it with you as well, but I have it now! I have the power who to decide to share it with! It makes me feel nuke-u-lar.
Anyway - take a break from the world. Never mind all that I'd just said. Really. Don't think about it. Here's how:
1. Click on either the hyperlink below, or on the YouTube Video Player (if it shows up on your screen - and, by the way, it never does if you receive these postings by RSS feed).
2. Watch the video, and turn the music up loud.
